Donald B. Colhour, theologian, clergyman, television executive, writer and producer, is a 20 year veteran of the American Broadcasting Company and former  President and partner of HMC Entertainment.

In l 994, Rev. Colhour entered the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in the first University program which would explore the relationships between media and theology. In accepting this opportunity, he received scholarships and grants from the Hollywood Congregational Foundation and the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. While doing his research, he served as assistant minister of Carrick Knowe Parish Church of Scotland in Edinburgh. He completed his master's degree in the philosophy of divinity, which he received in December 1997.

The central theme of Rev. Colhour's research and method is understanding the reappearance of ancient oral media structures in the electronic age. His broad background within the electronic media community and his religious and theological work provide him with a unique perspective and point of view for both the church and media communities. In conjunction with this research, he is also completing two works which will be aimed at these communities as well as non-religious/non-fiction readers. These works explore the relationships between the religious and media communities of our day. In addition, he consults, lectures and preaches to community, religious and media groups on the importance of understanding the relationships between theology and electronic media as we enter the next millennium

While at ABC Television, Rev. Colhour produced or oversaw production and creation of a broad range of projects including "Monday Night Football," "World News Tonight," "Good Morning America," "General Hospital," "Welcome Back, Kotter," and the Academy Awards. He produced events for other organizations such as United Cerebral Palsy, the Deveraux Foundations, APLA, the Los Angeles Bach Festival, the Los Angeles Music Center, the Hollywood Bowl, YWCA of Los Angeles, and Project Literacy America.

Rev. Colhour is a champion for literacy. He was the founder of Project Literacy Los Angeles, a broad-based city-wide agency which provided free instruction in basic skills to non-readers using volunteers and facilities of local churches. This organization has now expanded and become Project Literacy America. In 1988 he created the National Literacy Honors, which became an ABC network television special. The event honored Barbara Bush, and marked the first public appearance of George Bush after his election as President. Then-governor Bill Clinton gave out medals to the learners.

Rev. Colhour was the executive producer and director for the Hollywood Bowl's 50th anniversary tribute to George Gershwin. In 1988 he founded the American Pilgrim Chorus, which toured throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Hawaii and the western United States..

Ordained into Christ's Ministry in January, 1997, he served as a lecturer and chaplain for the Holland America Lines in the Caribbean and South America and was called as Senior Minister at Wilshire Christian Church in November 1998. He is listed in Who's Who in Hollywood, Who's Who in Entertainment, and the international Directory of Distinguished Leadership.
